This will not be the most effortless pet import you will do, but once it’s complete, you can’t imagine the beaches they can run on. I should also mention the amount of hiking that can be done, either with high or low-energy pups.

Whew, it can also be a bit pricey for the testing. The titer and leishmania blood work were $300 each. They must be sent to approved labs for testing, or you will do it again. 

We started communicating with biosecurity in French Poly with the titer test and form No 211A. Then, they could start our file. The titer test was done 8 months out to give us some wiggle room at go time. As I accomplished a test, I would forward it to them to add to our file. This way, they can guide you if something isn’t quite right. We had the pleasure of redoing the leishmania test as our go time changed.

Dr Sandra is as close to the expert in Panama as you can get for this process. The best way to contact her is through the WhatsApp number on the chart. The office is shared with the Hospital Veterinario, (address) Calle 71 Este San Francisco y Av Las Gardenias. Dr Sandra and her team speak English, which is a big plus! If you try to make an appointment through the office, you will be disappointed as they speak almost no English and don’t run Dr Sandra’s calendar. Stick to WhatsApp.   

As we say, plans are written in sand at low tide… you will want to be sure it is high tide, and you are above the water line for this process.
